Armed Forces Day 24 June 2017

Barton Court hosted a memorable Armed Forces Day on 24 June 2017.  To mark the occassion, the Mayor and Mayoress of Swale officiallly opened a special WW1 memorial fountain in the grounds of the home.  Activities included music by the Salavation Army band (Sittingbourne), the Big Fish band and two entertainers.

Feedback from the families and residents praised the staff and home for putitng on a lively display that brought joy to all the residents.

Having just spent the day at Barton Court residential home, celebrating Armed Forces Day, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff involved.  The atmosphere was joyous, with all the residents and guests enjoying live music and the food provided.  There was laughter, smiles and the occasional tear, as they sang along to the songs form the 40’s.  Credit must go to Elaine, who was the driving force behind the organization and to peter who worked tirelessly to ensure the memorial garden was ready for its opening.  The staff at Barton Court are a wonderful group of people.  Nothing is too much trouble for them and the care they show towards the elderly residents is outstanding.  Barton Court is a shining example of how a care home should be run.  It is a pleasure to visit there.
